| Clearview is the first step on the road to recovery for individuals caught in dependency or addictive behavior. While their comprehensive program focuses mainly on alcohol or drug dependency, Clearview counselors also assist clients with other addictive behaviors. Clearview also treats patients with a dual diagnosis, a mental or emotional condition that exists alongside the addictive behavior and may contribute to it. The center employs both an addictionalogist and psychologist to treat patients with depression, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorders, and other conditions. After completing initial treatment in a hospital, most Clearview clients enter the center’s highly rated residential program for thirty to ninety days. The staff conducts an initial clinical assessment for each client that will aid in tailoring a treatment program to address their particular needs. The client is normally assigned two masters-level counselors: one for individual sessions and the other to facilitiate the client’s group experience. With the help of these counselors, the client begins treatment based on Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous’ proven twelve-step program. Each day during their treatment, the client will encounter a mix of personal responsibility tasks, counseling sessions and group interaction with others facing a similar dependency. Over the next one to three months they will learn about the roots of dependency, family systems, stress and anger management, relapse prevention and coping with grief. Once clients graduate from the residential program, their relationship with Clearview doesn’t necessarily end. The center sponsors Aftercare, a support group that meets each Wednesday at 6:00pm to aid “alumni” as they continue the process of growth and hope. Some clients in their second thirty-day period of treatment may find a supplementary program at Clearview extremely helpful in their recovery. Workshop addresses Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), a contributing condition to dependencies. Workshop is designed specifically for clients who have unresolved issues caused by past abuse or trauma. These lingering issues have a direct bearing on the client’s current life situation and their addictive behavior. During the four-week program, clients learn the connections between their current dependencies and their history with the help of knowledgeable and compassionate counselors and others who have experienced similar circumstances. Along the way, they also learn about family systems, co-dependency and the origins of unhealthy shame. Through education and trauma re-enactment, clients then learn how to resolve these life issues successfully.
